Supporters, friends, and community partners came together for Lend A Hand Society’s annual Spring Event on May 20 to celebrate the impact we’ve made together over the past year. The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on LAH’s mission and recognize the many individuals and organizations that help make our work possible.

Board President Erica Harmon and Executive Director Nancy Cooper shared highlights from the past year, noting that LAH awarded 482 emergency grants totaling $252,378 through partnerships with more than 200 agencies. These grants provided critical assistance to individuals and families facing financial hardship, helping them navigate unexpected challenges.

The evening’s dynamic guest speaker, Hed Ehrlich, Managing Attorney of the Housing Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services, described the organization’s work providing free civil legal services to people experiencing financial hardship throughout Greater Boston. Ehrlich highlighted GBLS’s efforts to prevent evictions, preserve affordable housing, and help vulnerable residents remain safely housed. Through stories of clients facing housing instability, disability-related challenges, and the risk of losing critical assistance, he illustrated how legal advocacy, combined with support from LAH and other organizations, can help families overcome barriers and maintain stable housing.

We are grateful to everyone who attended to learn more about Lend A Hand. We hope you can join us next year.
