Friends, donors, and board members gathered on April 25th at The College Club of Boston for Lend A Hand’s 127th Annual Spring Event. Attendees enjoyed a special evening of hors d’oeuvres, a wonderful wine tasting, and a beautiful setting. Keynote speaker, Malkia Kendricks, cofounder and program director of Women Connecting Affecting Change and Multicultural Aids Coalition, spoke compellingly about how LAH funds help many local women of color struggling with the medical and financial burdens of STIs, HEP C, and HIV infection. Guests also learned about the 479 LAH grants made in 2018 to more than 260 Boston-area households burdened by medical costs, threat of eviction, or loss of utilities. Each year, LAH helps a greater number of people, however the need continued to grow. Nancy Inui, LAH president, and Nancy Cooper, executive Director, thanked donors for their support in making this all possible.
